Volunteer Broward Collects One Million Pounds of Food
HandsOn Network Action Center Volunteer Broward has set a goal to collect one million pounds of food from September 14 to October 17 for its “Field of Food” distribution event on Saturday, October 17 at Lockhart Stadium.
Volunteer Broward’s Field of Food, one of the largest annual community-wide food and funds drives in South Florida, is a cooperative of more than six dozen local hunger relief organizations supporting Broward County. The one million pounds of food and funds will help local food pantries and social service agencies that aid individuals and families in need. Last year, the Field of Food event provided 750,000 meals to those struggling financially.
