HOU not only designs and delivers training, but we equip and inform others through membership programs, newsletters, our annual conference and more. HOU provides easy access to tools and resources via webinars and other online platforms as well as maintaining a connected network of trainers and other service experts across the nation.

Traditional Tools and Resources
HandsOn University is a clearinghouse of content designed to help individuals, nonprofit, government, and businesses to improve their volunteerism and civic engagement capacity. HOU serves as a unique learning community where participants access a catalog of learning experiences that allow individuals to develop or refine expertise in volunteerism and community action through online courses, advanced interactive learning portals, peer mentoring and experiential learning.

National Conference on Volunteering and Service (NCVS) – Convened by Points of Light Institute, with programming designed and managed by the HandsOn University team, the annual event provides attendees with an opportunity to learn, connect and be inspired through a wide range of exciting and informative plenary sessions, workshops, special events, service projects, exhibits, specialized corporate tracks and more. NCVS is the world's largest gathering of volunteer and service leaders from the nonprofit, corporate and government sectors. Nonprofit and Government Membership Program – HOU supports nonprofit and government agencies’ volunteer engagement efforts in several ways.
