Coming Soon to HandsOn Network: Singapore Cares

HandsOn Network is looking forward to bringing on Singapore Cares as a new international affiliate! Singapore Cares (SG Cares) is a product of National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) Singapore. This organization has begun to provide managed volunteer projects to eager volunteers and has drawn the attention of media within Singapore. SG Cares currently works with more than 30 non-profit organizations to provide volunteer opportunities in fields ranging from the environment to the arts. Singapore Cares promises to provide something for everyone. Announced in February 2009, it has already drawn more than 370 people to its orientation sessions.

 
Two members of the Singapore Cares staff, Devi and Dawn, joined us at the National Conference on Volunteering & Service in San Francisco, where they networked with staff from other international and domestic affiliates and had the opportunity to share about their work. They received consulting services from Patrice Keegan, Executive Director of Boston Cares, and look forward to incorporating lessons learned from the conference into their work over the next few months. Congratulations Singapore Cares, and we look forward to you joining the Network soon!
