Since its start in 1991, HandsOn Nashville's volunteers have worked year-round, 365 days a year, to make Nashville a better place. In 2009, Hands On Nashville connected 38,969 volunteers to service opportunities, making a $23 million economic impact on the city.



Due to the recent floods, Hands On Nashville is leading the way in disaster relief. In response to the floods, Hands On Nashville coordinated 889 project sites between the dates of May 2nd and June 2nd. Across those project sites, approximately 15,938 individuals volunteered their time completing a total of about 66,479 hours. The projected economic impact of Hands On Nashville's flood volunteerism, according to Independent Sector research, is estimated at $1,386,087.00! Hands On Nashville has been making an impact in their community for 19 years and is continuing to grow its capacity using several vehicles, including Facebook, Twitter and its website. Over the last month Hands On Nashville has received 21,466 new Facebook fans, 3,385 new Twitter followers and 113,767 unique visits to www.hon.org.
